The Precision Motive Story

Precision Motive was officially founded on January 21st, 1977, by the dynamic duo of Pat Hendrix and his supportive wife, Sue. Before this significant milestone, Pat had been tirelessly running the operation out of his modest garage, nurturing his passion for automotive excellence. Over time, they diligently saved enough money to bring their dream to life and start their very own business! As is the case for many ambitious entrepreneurs, during the initial couple of years, they encountered some challenging and rough times. However, if you know Pat, then you know he is not just a good businessman but also an exceptional mechanic, along with being a truly wonderful person to collaborate and work with.

Yesterday and Today

Pat grew up with a passion for cars, from building his mini-bike and go-carts to building and driving his cars. Pat attended night classes at San Jose City College during his early mechanical years, entering a 4-year program. But because of Pat's knowledge of cars, after two years of classes, the college awarded him his journeymanship. He then went to work at Carter Industries, Inc., a motor vehicle parts & accessories manufacturer in Union City, California. While working at Carter, Pat also worked on friends’ and relatives’ cars in his garage at home. He realized then that his dream was to start his own automotive repair business. Pat & Sue decided to start that dream in 1977, and on January 21, Precision Motive was established and serviced the Bay Area’s classic car scene for 40+ years.

Since then, Pat has decided to retire and sold the business to Daniel Rojas and his family officially on February 15th of 2021. Daniel grew up with an obsession for cars and classic muscle. His first car at 15 was his ‘72 El Camino where he learned a lot of lessons from his father Hugo Rojas Sr. keeping it on the road going to and from school. Daniel started working for Pat in 2017 and Pat mentored him from the beginning sharing all his knowledge of hot rods and muscle cars and how to treat customers with integrity. We have kept the legacy Pat started as one of the Bay Area’s top tier hot rod and muscle car shops. We pride ourselves on providing high quality honest work that allow our clients to enjoy their cars for years to come. Let us be a part of your classic car journey.
