Jon & Cathy’s 1966 Suburban started as a simple LSX swap with a Whipple supercharger. As with any custom project it quickly snowballed into the beast it came out to be. The engine is a LSX B15 376ci engine from Chevrolet Performance topped with a 3.0L Whipple Supercharger provided by Wegner Automotive along with their complete front accessory drive system. All this running through a Bowtie Overdrives Stage 3 4L80E transmission built to handle 1000hp if we decided we want to turn it up. Power gets put down through a stout Quick Performance 9” housing and axles. Stopping this beast is 14” Wilwood brakes all the way around with 6 piston front and 4 piston rear running a manual brake master cylinder. We completely rewired the car with an American Autowire completely custom made wiring harness from front to back. Controlling the engine & transmission is a Holley EFI Terminator X Max ecu with a custom made wiring harness to make sure you see as little wiring as possible. We installed a Dakota Digital RTX gauge cluster to monitor vitals and keep the interior with that vintage look. Inside we have a Vintage Air A/C system keeping passengers cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Keeping the engine temps in check is a very big Wizard Cooling radiator and brushless fans which also integrates the A/C condenser as the heat exchanger for the supercharger. Making all this handle on the road is a full QA1 suspension system with a No Limit Engineering steering rack. The engine bay has a lot of custom touches from the custom intake and filter box, to some custom sheet metal work done on the firewall and fender wells. This truck made 650whp and 670wtq on the dyno on a conservative tune making only 12lbs of boost on 91 octane. It will destroy tires at the crack of the throttle while running cool with the A/C on full blast.
